Tina Fay Nunez

Tina Fay Nearn Nunez - born in Dallas, Texas on January 22, 1960, the last of seven children, to James D. and Minnie Jane Nearn. She died March 2, 2016. Funeral services include visitation and Rosary at Eastgate Funeral Home on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 6-8 p.m., followed by Mass on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m at St. Pius X Church. Burial will be held immediately following at Sacred Heart Cemtery.

She grew up in the Oak Cliff area, graduated from Carter High School, and attended Dallas-area community colleges.

Tina is survived by husband Rudy Nunez, daughter Brianna Nunez, son Jarett Nunez, and grandson Izayah. Also left to honor her memory include her brother James Douglas Nearn of Atoka, Tennessee, sister Carolyn Johnston of Stephenville, Texas, and adopted family Laura and Geary Mcevoy, Karen Olson and husband Ruel and children Mariah, Ryan, Decima, and Lawton, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tina was partner and office manager for Coldwell Plumbing, a family-owned business with husband Rudy and partner Greg Minton.

Tina was a dedicated volunteer for her community and church activities - in anything that involved children. She coached thirteen girls' volleyball teams over a period of eight years. Her 6th grade team won the Championship in 2015.

In addition to her parents, Tina was preceded in death by brothers Bobby Nearn of Bloomfield, New Mexico; Jerry Nearn, Dallas, Texas; Larry Nearn, Austin, Texas and sister Denise Smith of Grand Junction, Colorado.

Tina was devoted to her faith, her family and friends and especially to her volleyball girls. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The Nunez family is forever grateful for the loving care given to Tina by the doctors and nurses of Presbyterian Hospital, to Dr. Bijal Modi and his staff at Texas Oncology (especially Emily in the infusion lab) and to the nursing staff of Seasons Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Pius and St. Bernard Athletic Departments.
